configure works fine on ksh (thanks to you, 
I found out that it is actually twice as 
fast as bash), I see the following here:
$ echo $KSH_VERSION
Version JM 93u+ 2012-02-29
$ ksh --version
  version         sh (AT&T Research) 93u+ 2012-02-29

Google claims that there is a binary distribution 
of bash for qnx, perhaps you can test it.
(The first problem apparently is related to a 
broken shell.)
