Well, most software players ignore the scr anyway so they're not all
that useless.  Furthermore, a PES stream is supposed to have ESCR
fields in the PES headers.  The VDR files don't, but that's another
matter.

Yes, that would make more sense, although I suppose a case for
conversion to another format could be made from the reduced overhead.
