won't those brave people have to build libraries from those package to
make it work for amrnb and amrwb ?
what i understood from your previous changes is that:
 - only amrnb fixed point version is built as previously
 - if you want support for float versions, you have to install amrnb
and/or amrwb libraries...

have i missed something ?
if not, everything in amr.c can be removed except from the fixed point
part of amrnb, no ?
