[Ffmpeg-devel] Help-Could not find video grab device

I am having trouble in grabbing video using FFMPEG. I am using the video4linux for this. The webcam is Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000 and it works perfectly fine with xawtv & even gnomemeeting. The device is also listed in the dev folder as /dev/video0. But still i am getting the error "Could not find video grab device". Can you please help me.
  
  The audio grab is working fine when i used /dev/dsp. 
  
  This is what i am using to grab the video. 
  ffmpeg -vd /dev/video0 -y test.mpg
 
 Can anyone help me out???
