Hmm, okay, so what do you suggest? As far as I see, the alternatives are: 
1) Moving this to LIB_INSTALL_EXTRA_CMD
2) Creating both SHLIBDIR and LIBDIR in install-lib$(NAME)-shared
3) Installing this into SHLIBDIR instead of LIBDIR
