Is there any obvious benefit of using this compared to the normal AAC/RTP 
variant? (I'm not particularly familiar with LATM.)

Could you give an example of what phone platforms/players do support this? 
Do they support the normal AAC/RTP format too, or is the LATM variant 
required for those players?
