IMHO, the whole point is rather moot. For example, most precompiled binaries
of libavfilter will always come with vsrc_movie, and thus depend on
libavcodec and libavformat. As for custom builds, they are custom,
precisely: we can enable or disable whatever part we want/need.

In fact, my opinion on the broader question is that we should merge
everything into libavcodec. But I do not expect people here to agree with
that, and I will not act on it: as I wrote earlier, I'll wait for some more
advice and probably propose to move the metadata API into libavutil.
