This is not only libel, but also a lie (not the first one!) - please stop it (or
go away)!

I would suggest the following compromise:
The download page explains that only the videolan repository is officially
supported, but that various forks/personal repositories/whatever is appropriate
exist, and list their addresses with an explicit warning that bug-reports are
only accepted for the supported repository.
