That's a really good question. I had the same concern when starting
working on the port. My port is only based on the vivtc version, which is
LGPL. vivtc is meant to be a light clone, and according to the author,
there is very little similarities. I didn't look at TIVTC and trusted the
license from which this code is based on.

Note that I would be more comfortable with GPL as well. But on the other
hand, switching to GPL while vivtc is LGPL will cause some backport issues
if the vivtc author want to pick some changes from FFmpeg.
