I didn't remember her being against it. I think it's a good solution to 
keep gathers out of haswell and old zen. It was my latest suggestion 
when this was discussed.

While haswell use is in decline, can the same be said about Ryzen 3xxx?

I'll apply this patch as is for now. The flag can be added later.
