Comment:

 If I am not mistaken, this is an endianness issue: The generated files
 differ, but writing+reading files created with the same endianness
 produces endianness-independent results (as can be seen from the fact that
 the CRCs of the decoded data coincide (after converting to the same format
 (namely the little-endian one)).
