 The patch is withdrawn as Alex Converse informed us that this behavior
 (treating unsignaled mono as stereo) is intentionally defined for a HE-
 AACv2 complaint decoder by the MPEG audio committee. The libfdk-aac
 decoder does the same thing. So I'm closing this as invalid.
