 Does it happen on flac?

 >What's strange is that the audio is cut from the end, not the beginning
 (that is, the audio that is played while codec is starting is NOT lost -
 the lost part is the tail

 That is not strange, we support editlist for aac in the beginning. So the
 added silence from the start is removed.

 Probably when you press q it exits instantly and does not record audio.
 Still strange
