The difference is that 'normal' TV is mpeg2 with 25fps and a certain 
I-frame every 12th frame.
HD is h264 with far less certainty when an I-frame comes, that's why I 
suggested to 1st save the file. But as you stated that also isn't 
working. VLC also can encode, is that working with the file you have ?
