Attempting to compile ffmpeg-2.0 from source dated 2013-07-09

Also compiled libmp3lame, yasm and libx264 from source.

libmp3lame (3.99.5)
yasm (1.2.0)
libx264 (unknown, sourced from git 2013-07-26)

configure fails; indicates libx264 is not found or wrong version.

[output]
$ ./configure --enable-gpl --enable-libx264 --enable-libmp3lame
--enable-nonfree --enable-libvorbis --enable-x11grab
ERROR: libx264 must be installed and version must be >= 0.118.

[/output]

System is :
Ubuntu 8.04 LTS
GCC 4.2.4 (GCC) (Ubuntu 4.2.4-1ubuntu4)
LD GNU ld (GNU Binutils for Ubuntu) 2.18.0.20080103

ffmpeg will configure if I do not try to enable libx264
config.log is attached as per configure's instruction (7z archived)
