prores_aw (anatoliy) is up to 4x faster in my tests. However, prores_ks
(kostya) compresses the data more efficiently (files are somewhat smaller
for roughly the same quality). I'm not sure this is worth the massive
slowdown, but for incredibly large files (several hundred GB), it might be
helpful.
