These scaler settings improve quality but please understand 
that this takes a lot of processing power both at encoding 
and at decoding time, so it may not be worth the effort:
-sws_flags lanczos+accurate_rnd+full_chroma_int+full_chroma_inp

If you want to apply sharpening, the gaussian filter 
should allow this, I never tried it.
