It doesn't. It returns the following error

$ cd-info /dev/disk4
cd-info version 0.94 x86_64-apple-darwin17.0.0

cd-info: Error in automatically selecting driver for input /dev/disk4.

My device selection might be ok. Since the following command shows me that the device name of CD-ROM is /dev/disk4

$ drutil status
Vendor   Product           Rev

         Type: CD-ROM               Name: /dev/disk4
     Sessions: 1                  Tracks: 11
 Overwritable:   00:00:00         blocks:        0 /   0.00MB /   0.00MiB
   Space Free:   00:00:00         blocks:        0 /   0.00MB /   0.00MiB
   Space Used:   38:25:28         blocks:   172903 / 354.11MB / 337.70MiB

Do you find out anything wrong in above?

I have just posted a question about support OS of libcdio to libcdio-help mailing list. But currently it isn't delivered to list member yet.
