[FFmpeg-user] ffplay fullscreen on wayland

Using the following command to start fullscreen playback on wayland /
weston compositor:

SDL_VIDEODRIVER=wayland ffplay -hide_banner -loglevel panic -fs filename.ext

Most of the time I get a fullscreen of the top left quarter of the
video zoomed in. Pressing 'f' to switch to windowed mode then 'f'
again does go to fullscreen showing the full video resolution.

Is there anything I can do to force ffplay to show the correct
resolution every time?
