So, I had a look at Michael's diff and merged with mine, which actually 
only lacked the RDWR flag it seems.

Maybe configure should check for gethostname() ?

Here is the current version, it seems to be working fine, if it works 
for 
everyone I shall commit it. If I do have an svn account that is, the 
cvs 
ones don't work do they ?
