[FFmpeg-devel] Am I violating the license?

One could argue that since ffmpeg is included in almost every
distribution, it has become a 'system library' and falls under the
"special exception"-clause of section 3, GPL (version 2). He doesn't
seem to modify ffmpeg but relys on prepackaged versions of ffmpeg to
build and run.

However I agree that providing a tarball (or the source package of his
distribution) with the exact ffmpeg version used to compile the binaries
on the website would take you on the safe side.
