[Libav-user] Is it possible to extract motion vectors directly from compressed video?

Hello, dear friends,
I’m failed to find the way to extract motion vectors from mp4 video without decoding.
Use  function “avcodec_receive_frame((AVCodecContext *avctx, AVFrame *frame) “ stipulates full decoding of the frame,
And then getting side data. Some people told me, it is possible without decoding. But how?
I am not spec in codecs, alas…Could someone help, please?
