FFmpeg releases are a recurring topic. Every so often somebody comes
and asks for a release or flat out demands releases more often.
Unfortunately the intersection of the people demanding releases and
those offering help for releases is empty.

So I can understand that Michael reacts in a somewhat short-tempered way
whenever the topic comes up for the 554th time...

To answer your question: The thing holding up the release are the
ffserver regression tests. IIRC they are working now except for
PPC+AltiVec and maybe AMD64. The latter seems to be compiler-dependent.

If you want to see the release happening sooner rather than later, help
us find and fix this problem. Otherwise please be patient.

Diego
